Who can attend GBC?

Title I Early Childhood Program is designed for children 4-5 years old (until they are age eligible for kindergarten), who first participated in a developmental screening to determine if they are eligible for the Title I program. Screenings are held at the Parents As Teachers facility. To schedule a screening, please call 986-2486. Multi-age classes are included with an Early Childhood Special Education program. Title I teachers will make personal visits during the school year. There is no cost for the program.
 
Early Childhood Special Education Preschool Program is designed for children, ages 3-5 (until they are age eligible for kindergarten), who qualify based upon an identification process of screening and evaluation and must show significant developmental delays. Multi-age classes are included with our Early Childhood Title I Program at the Early Childhood Center.  We also provide services to children who are attending Lee’s Summit community Preschools, or at their home.   Parent and teacher contacts are scheduled throughout the school year.  Children who qualify may receive related services such as: speech, language, occupational therapy, physical therapy, vision services, hearing impaired services.   There is no cost for the program.
 
Head Start  Children can also qualify for Head Start programming.     Head Start eligibility is determined by family income, with those at greatest need receiving services.  There is no cost for the program.
